Erie County Fair  - Adult Hunters

Noreen Laks is the Owner and Head Instructor of Quakerfield Equestrian Stables.  She is a life long equestrian, trainer and enthusiastic competitor.  She has competed to many victories on the local and “A” rated show circuit.  Noreen has trained a variety of horses and students over the years, from Hunters to Jumpers, and is fulfilling a dream as the new owner of the farm.  In addition to her equestrian endeavors, she is a devoted mother of five children.

Noreen’s acquisition of Quakerfield is the culmination of hard work and determination that began as a little girl and she is now able to infuse her enthusiasm and energy towards the farm.

As Owner of QFES, her objective is to foster in her students the love of horses and riding and for her boarders and their horses, superior care and accommodations.  She feels it is her privilege to pass on to her students and customers her years of knowledge and expertise.

Amber Thompson

Assistant Manager & Trainer/Instructor

Amber has over 17 years of equestrian experience as an accomplished owner and rider.  Amber has trained with a number of local professionals.  While competing on the A Circuit, Amber’s main focus was in the Jumper ring with her horse “I Got Lucky” (Margot).  She also successfully competed in the Children’s and Junior Hunters, including the Equitation divisions.  While riding on the circuit Amber won many championships and awards that made her understand the hard work, preparation and fun of competition.

Amber holds a Bachelors degree in Sociology from Buffalo State University.  Her passion in life is being an equestrian professional and is looking forward to passing along her knowledge and experience to students at QFES.  As an accomplished rider in both Hunters and Jumpers she is able to instruct students who wish to learn either or both hunt seat styles.  Whether her students wish to enjoy horses recreationally or competitively, each students program is customized so they reach their goals.
